Last week, we saw so many inspiring things at the Stitches Midwest Show, that we couldn’t possibly fit it into just blog post! Since we’ve already covered charities and a few highlights from the beginner spinning class, today we’re going to feature a fun trend that was all over the entire show floor. What is it? Sparkly yarn! From delicate bits of metallic materials to gold and silver sequins, the yarn at Stitches was full of playful sparkles and glitter. Want to see some of it? I knew you would!
(Side note: don’t forget, you can enter to win an incredible swag bag just by answering the question at the bottom of this post!)
Now let’s get to the good stuff: the yarn! Below is just a taste of the exciting shimmery products that caught my eye. There were so many different types of inspiring designs that it was difficult to capture it all. First up on the list is this gorgeous Rayon Metallic yarn from Blue Heron Yarns. If you’re still looking for the perfect yarn to use in a holiday gift, this classy line is just the thing you need to make your presents shine (or in this case, sparkle). What I liked about this yarn in particular was that the sparkle wasn’t overwhelming; instead, pieces of metallic were carefully woven into the fiber, resulting in a clean and glamorous finish. Imagine how cute a matching hat-and-mitten set would look in this yarn!
TuckerWoods Artisan Yarns & Fibers also took a subtle approach with their glittery yarns. In their case, the result was this stunning line of cool-colored yarns with small flecks of shimmer. It’s difficult to see in the picture, but I love the way the light danced cross the skeins as it reflected off of the glittery pieces.
Spinners, don’t feel like you were left out, because there was plenty of sparkly roving at the Stitches show, too. This Silver Supwerwash Roving from Holiday Yarns looked simply delicious. By spinning your own glittery roving, you can create exactly the type of shimmery yarn your heart desires.
Calling all sequin lovers, this next group of pictures is meant especially for you! Whether you prefer gold sequins or silver sequins, this collection of skeins can turn any project into an instant piece of glamorous knitting.

I knit a lot of baby sweaters, and moms do NOT want to ahve to ahnd was wool sweaters, so I prefer baby weight synthetics.
I like cotton most because it is breathable and I love how it feels.
My favorite yarn is any 3 or above.
I love working with cotton Mostly..but last winter i worked with some Alpaca & it is now one of my favorites! Awesome bag:)
My favorite yarn to work with is
Marble Chunky by James C. Brett. The colorways are great, the yarn is soft and works up with a wonderful drape. Plus it is machine washable!!
I LOVE the Holiday sparkly yarns…..! Could not get enough of it!!!
my favorite is Sugar and Cream Yarn
Hands down my favorite yarn I have knitted with has to be the Rowan Cocoon- I recieved an entire bag of it for my birthday one year and it was pure luxury knitting with it. Otherwise I love to knit with hand dyed yarn and make socks out of it!!
Worsted because it’s so versatile. Can use it for many projects.
I love working with cotton yarn.
I love any yarn. Just love the different results from different weights for same projects. But if I had to chose just one right now it’s bamboo. Love the texture and results!
My favorite type of yarn to work with is anything Alpaca.
Lion’s Brand yarn
My favorite yarn is worsted weight yarn! Its easy to see the stitches and doesn’t split when knitting or crocheting! And I LOVE bright colors!!!
I like working with wool, next is the bamboo blend of my current project.
I’m not sure. I haven’t tried very many different kinds of yarn. I look forward to reading everyone else’s favorites so I’ll have some ideas.
I hate to sound like a fuddy duddy but i like working with worsted weight. It glides like silk for me.
Any type of sock yarn, you can make anything out of sock yarn
Worsted. It works up well and I just really like the look of it.
My favorite yarn to work with right now is Simply Soft by Caron.
thats hard..but i do love Patons Astra..its a great multi purpose yard that washes and wears beautifully. especially for childrens items.
I love a bamboo/silk blend for it’s softness and drape on a finished piece.
I just love yarn in general. I think if i had to pick it would be worsted or cotton.
I really like Caron Simply Soft because it’s cheap, easy care, and oh so soft!
I enjoy sport weight yarn…not too thick, not too thin, just right!
I really don’t have a particular favorite, but as long as it’s soft to the touch I’m a happy knitter!!!
I love working with cotton yarn!
It may sound crazy, but my favorite yarn is the one that speaks to me at that time. I have a large bag of a variety yarns. When I finish a project, I open the bag and “listen” to the yard. The one that tells me what it wants to be, is my favorite until that project is finished…lol
Anything that is very very soft. Mostly worsted.
My favorite yarn to use is Red Heart Super Savor I’m fighting my third round of cancer and I’m always knitting since I’m wheelchair bound now. I use it to make hats, scarfs, and blankets by knitting n crocheting. By not working n on total disability I can afford to buy yummy yarn n make items for the homeless and woman’s shelters. There’s such wonderful colors too choose from too make them happy which makes me happy. I can really use this wonderful bag n stuff for my charity work as I Tought myself how to knit on you tube n I use Ravelry.com. Thank you for letting me tell you my fav yarn because I’m bound to my home and it so makes me such a happy person to help others as I fight my lung cancer and spinial masses. Thank you Sincerly, Anissa Valente Crochetinmama on Ravelry.com
I haven’t did much with the fancy yarns. Mostly I just use the cotton blends. I am making a shawl with the ladder yarn and I like the design of the shawl with that yarn.
Alpaca! It’s so soft and warm.
I love DK yarn. I especially like a BFL-silk mix. It is just yummy to work with.
I love 100% cotton yarn but I’d have to say that my favorite is the Caron Spa Bamboo SIlk yarn because, even though it’s a bit splitty, it has a lovely sheen.
i love any and all yarn. the type i’m working with is my favorite at that time
I love working with mohair even though it is a pain if you need to pull out a row. I really love Noro yarns and similar ones that change as you go. Just beautiful.
Anything variegated – love watching the colors change
I like anything wool – I just like the feel and how well it responds to my hooks or needles. Any weight is good!
I love knitting with Noro yarn and watching the vibrate colors unvail.
Every ball is a new experience!
I am in love with Lion Brand Homespun yarn. It makes the coziest hats and mittens of any yarn I’ve tried so far!
My favorite crochet fix is actually thread. Red Heart classic is a good thread that is easy to find.
I enjoy knitting and crocheting with a variety of yarns, depending on my mood. . . If I’m looking for a challenge, eyelash yarn is fun.If I need to relax, a soft cotton yarn and a simple pattern is great. That’s the wonderful thing about yarn, there is a type for every pattern, person, and mood!
It depends on what I’m making, but I frequently fall back on quick projects made with lion homespun.
What’s my favorite yarn to work with you ask…YARN, LOL.
Seriousy, love some wool silk blends and Alpaca just begs to be petted.
My favorite type of yarn to work with is sports weight and baby sports.
My favorite type of yarn to work with is multi colored and wool….good old fashioned wool…..there are so many soft varieties out now that I can choose from many companies. I like the rich tones and depths of color that only wool allows!
Merino wool, because it’s so soft, and the piece comes out looking really nice.
My favorite yarn to work with is alwasy bulky weight – I make alot of hats. scarves and cowls for my kids and nieces and nephews, they all like the thicknest and softness of it. Ans the craxy colors I use!
I love a wool blend! Always feels so nice & works up beautifully!
Who can pick a favorite…around here it’s, “must buy all the yarn!” I love a really soft yarn and one with a nice sheen.
Noro – anything Noro – from sock yarn to worsted weight! Love the feel and the way it knits up.
I love to knit with silk! If there are beads and sequins in it, even better!!
Cotton!! So easy to work, to wash and dry!
I love working with lion brand homespun! Thanks for the chance to win!
I have this intense and unabiding love for Sock weight in wool and wool blends… that teensy tiny step between fingering and sport that we all love! So much can be made from this weight – Socks (of course!), shawls, shawlettes, caps, cowls, gloves, mittens, scarves, vests and yes, even sweaters! To me, this is the most versatile weight of yarn EVER!
My favorite yarn is soft and can be used to knit sweaters, socks and many different things. So I guess it is the light to medium weight.
I like yarns that have a blend of fibers – they are so soft and knit up so fast for wonderful projects.
I’m loving the wool and silk blend I’m currently knitting with. Love the feel.
Or any sock yarn.
I love the natural fibers. No matter what the weight, alpaca and cashmere top the list for me.
My favorite yarn is anything soft and not too heavy. Also bring on the sparkles!!
I love working with wool!
I love all sorts of yarn, but last year i discovered wool yarn. I made 4 felted purses for Christmas presents. I also included fun fur into it too. They turned out so cute and my family really love them.
I love working with chunky yarns like Homespun, because they work up so fast.
SO far I have enjoyed using acrylic and cotton. Really want to start expanding into using diff different types. I have mostly been making blankets want to try hand at hats and sweaters maybe even socks.
I work mainly with worsted weight (4), but I really prefer sports weight (3)
Washable sock yarn is my favorite! I love knitting with tiny needles!
My favorite type of yarn is probably bamboo. I love the feel of it!
My favorite yarns include, anything bohemian looking, different textures and soft Dk weights! BLING and besides, any good quality yarn is like music to the fingers
I love knitting with Malabrigo it is so incredibly soft and the varigated ones have such vibrant colorways.
Peaches And Creme Yarns
My favorite is what ever I have at the time because that means I get to be knitting something!
Cotton in rainbow colors
I love to work with Hobby Lobby’s brand of yarns, “I Love This Yarn!” but I also like to work with anything soft and silky, like bamboo, etc. But I will try any yarn once!
Variegated worsted- love to watch patterns play out as you work along.
I love knitting with fingering yarn. It can be used to make so many things from socks to shawls.
My favorite is Caron Simply Soft yarn. No, this isn’t an advertisement, just my preference. It’s very workable and is incredibly soft. It also has a nice finish.
It depends on what I’m knitting! I love sport-weight for slippers, worsted for warm kids sweaters, something soft for scarves, sparkly will do wonderfully for an evening-type sweater or shrug. I love wool for mittens, alpaca for more scarves and lovely sweaters.
The yarn I use the most is cotton, for dishcloths. They are easy and fast to knit. But I would prefer to knit in something soft and silky! It just feels and knits better.
I love the soft yarns. Making lots of baby stuff lately and the soft baby yarn is great.
I really enjoy working with natural fibers, especially cotton and cotton blends. I usually have a favorite of the moment depending on my project!
I like Worsted and bulky/super bulky.
They work up quick and are easy to use.
My favorite is sock yarn.
I like the worsted weight too. It is a yarn that can be used for so many projects.
It totally depends on the project, but I am a big fan of Lion Brand, Red Heart, cotton, and anything else that is soft, and is a color that thrills my soul.
i love wool yarn
I love worsted wool! Oh, and I love funky blends. And recycled yarns like denim and sari silk. OK, yeah. Basically I love yarn and I’ll knit or crochet anything you put in my hand!
I love working with Noro Silk Garden! Itis beautiful!
My favorite yarn is whatever I still have in my stash … of course, if I go to a show/store and see anything new, it becomes part of my stash…
It is, very frequently, the yarn I am currently working with – but it will change with a new project.
I love working with anything that’s soft! It just feels so good in the hand!
Cotton!
Recently I’ve been working with a hand dyed bulky cotton yarn & I’m loving it!
I love cotton yarn – it is my favorite.
sport weight, but always willing to trying different ones
the type of yarn doesnt really matter to me, but if i had to choose i would say a cotton and also a sport weight. the lighter the better for me!
I love working with any natural fiber yarn
I typically use worsted weight Red Heart or I Love This Yarn. But recently I purchased some bamboo to make a baby hat. I love to hold that hat in my hands It is so soft. It was a pleasure to work with while I was crocheting the hat.
I love cotton. But I love all sorts of yarn. I guess when you knit and crochet that happens. It depends on what I’m making.
Cotton yarn: I love the look, the feel, (and beautiful colors) whether I am knitting or chrocheting…..It wears so well and whether it’s a baby bib, a washcloth or a hat……100% cotton keeps it’s shape and presents my items beautifully!
Mohair blends, because it’s so soft and pretty. I love knitting lace.
I love anything soft, but most of all I enjoy bamboo and alpaca. Feels great in my hands!!!
I like working with Red Heart yarn. Its doesn’t separate and it works up nice.
Bamboo – It’s soft and silky and more economical – I would make underwear out of it if I could LOL!
Knitting worst to Fingering yarn preferably in a natural material makes me the happiest.
How can I have a favorite with so many wonderful yarns available? I can say I don’t like trying to work with some of the ultra fine thread quality yarns although they can sure add spark to a project!
anything that strikes me at the moment but usually acrylic worsted for the machine wash & wear convenience & quicker knitting than with a lighter weight -
I like to work with yarns that don’t stick to themselves. Probably because they are harder to rip out.
I am a worsted yarn person. I have created so many different types of projects that are just as lovely with the right color of a worsted as with your higher end yarns. May not be as soft, but just as lovely.
most of the projects i make are toys or decor items, and the worsted weight seems to work the best for me, well i guess it’s a tie between worsted and baby yarn
Knitting and crochet are my new love, can sure use some gifts
I love all types of yarn but I love knitting with unique yars. I knit a scarf out of organic bamboo yarn and I have a pattern for baby items made with yarn made out of corn! I can’t wait to try that!
I prefer the lighter weight (sock or baby) wool blend yarns since I knit mostly socks. I like the wool and poly or wool and bamboo the best.
Attending a Stitches event is a dream of mine. Houston gets the International Quilt Show but no yarn based shows. I live vicariously through blogs…lol.
As for my favorite yarn to work with, I would have to say anything that is appealing to my hand.
It would be hard to choose. I love the different types of yarn and just finished using (about 50sks)the net yarn, loved watching the pattern unfold and seemed each and every one was different. I just love knitted with different types. Getting in to doing socks, but haven’t tried the fingering weight, yet. Used to use it to make Barbie clothes, many, many moons ago.
I love the yarn that makes automatic patterns like flowers and stripes.
My favorite yarn to work with is sock yarn. It is lightweight and sturdy which is perfect for socks!
Haven’t really met a yarn yet that I didn’t like. Each one is unique unto itself(texture, colors, love them!).I really enjoy the sock yarns and the softer worsted an DK yarns for most things but I also enjoy trying other yarns when called for in certain projects.
I love the softness of baby yarn as I am usually making baby blankets as gift. I also love cotton. I am a new knitter so I still need to experiment with new kinds of yarn!
I like cotton but have also recently used some bulky yarn which is fun to knit with! Very soft too.
I love to knit with cotton yarn because of the beautiful stitch definition.
I knit for my enjoyment & for grand children. I have yet to find a yarn I don’t like!
I like to try ask sorts of new yarns. If its on sale or clearance I buy even if I do not have anything planned for it. As of right now my favorite would be super bulky since I’m making an afghan for a house warming party. So it depends on what project I’m working on.
I love most yarns, but especially anything very soft – like a baby yarn. But recently my favorite has been the ruffle yarns – just love how the ruffles form such pretty scarves – they are real head turners and conversation pieces!
Lace weight is my favorite, but really, almost anything goes!
I don’t have a favorite yarn, I just love the feel of the fibers as I knit and in the finished product.
I like to use soft, worsted weight yarn in most of my projects. I crochet and knit and even tho I have made many afghans, I like to keep my works smaller. Don’t want to loose interest in what I’m doing.
I love any yarn that is soft and sparkly.I make lots if things for my granddaughters, and for them, the more bling the better!
I really don’t have a particular favorite. The colors & texture have to speak to me for the project I am about to do whether is crocheting or knitting!
In general, I like working with lighter yarns; fingering and sport weight seem to fill my shelves here at home.
I adore anything from Malabrigo. I love the soft hand and the luscious colours.
Love working with cotton, but have worked with almost everything available. Can never have too much yarn. Have been having fun making T-shirt yarn .
Because I do so much knitting for children I like to use knitting worsted weight yarns – also like to try and use only those that are machine washable and dryable …
Sock yarn because it can become SO many things!
all yarn has its perks…glitter for that special project…cant beat it…
I’m happy with anything, especially if it is nice and soft! I like multi-dyed yarns, too
100% washable wool!
I like any soft yarn to work with.
I love cotton yarn, but I use just about every kind, depending on the project.
I love alpaca. I dream of one day owning my own alpacas to make my own yarn.
I love all yarn! My dream is to be surrounded by all kinds of yarn. I love the different projects that go along with various types of yarn.
I love working with different types but since I injured my hand the worsted weight is the easiest to use.
I love machine-washable merino wool. It’s soft, springy, and easy to work with. A cotton-acrylic blend is also great for summer projects.
I like a soft worsted thread, I love variegated in color or a fleck.
Love cotton yarn. Good for all
I love soft yarns, but I think that I enjoy working with aran or worsted weight the most!
I like working with worsted, sport, and fingering weight. I don’t care about knitting with bulky or chunky weight.
I love self striping yarn or varigated yarn, color, color, color, I love it.
Sock weight is my favorite to work with for almosr all projects.
Nearly Anyang worsted or chunky. Material is only important based on what I’m making and doing… Ad long as worsted or heavier I’m happy
cotton, hands down! for the many many uses it has. And if you need to unravel stitches, it maintains its loft much better than others.
I like chunky yarns a lot, but I like most yarns, as long as it’s not too stiff.
Wool, it is the only way to go
Worsted – its the most versatile
I love all yarns. The different colors and textures are wonderful. As long as I am knitting I am happy. Love sparkles and glitz.
Right now, I’d have to say unspun-Icelandic. But really almost all wools rotate through my knitting fingers regularly!
I’m partial to worsted. It’s fast to knit and I’m usually really happy with the results!
Cotton, esspecially thread. I love lacy patterns.
I love Lion Brand HOMESPUN because it is so soft
Any comparable soft yarn is enjoyable as well…
Anything that is soft – and not icky feeling. I do prefer worsted and dk weights but it is mostly how the yarn feels when I pet it that makes my decision!
It’s too hard to pick a favorite yarn
But I do like colorful self striping yarns the best! I mostly use cotton and cotton blends
I have some Italian wool that I’m making a shawl with and it’s working so well that I plan on buying more.
wool silk sock yarn I am hooked on socks and have made more then 30 pair in the last 1 1/2 years
Sock yarn. I love the different dye patterns and the different ways they knit up depending on your technique.
Love worsted yarns especially
red heart, have been buying it for years, lasts and wears for long time.
I love working with sock yarn. It works up so easy, and I love variegated! So neat to watch it self stripe. I like to make the triangle scarves out of the sock yarn.
Soft pastel cotton yarn. Love it!
My favorite is worsted because it’s washable and can be mixed with other yarns to be fancy or alone to be easy to care but beautiful.
I like all tyoes of yarns. Depends on what you are knitting. Just love yarn.
I would rather use a blend so I can make chemo or preemie hats to donate
I like acrylic blends due to their ease in washability and wearability. If cotton would hold it’s shape, that would probably be one I’d use more. Made mittens with alpaca once, and fell in love.
I love working with worsted weight yarn because it is easy for my fingers to work with plus I can make lots of different things with it.
My favorite yarns DK or worsted. Subtle color variations; super soft acrylics with metallic; handspun; cotton blends, silk, bamboo blends, yarns with sparkle, carry along yarns….. I love texture, color, art yarns, and interesting knitted accessories.
I love any type or wt. hand dyed yarns.
My biggest requirement, is that the yarn has to be soft. Other than that, I don’t think that I have a favorite yet.
I love love love sock yarn and also love the opposite end of the yarn spectrum, bulky yarns. I do like some sparkle but also like earthy oranges and plums. I have been known to go into my lys and purchase something completely out of character for me because there was something about that particular yarn that called me to it. I will also choose a yarn that no matter what it is made out of feels soft and nice in my hand.
That is a really hard question….I love yarn and different kinds for different things….I prefer natural wool, but don’t like it really picky/itchy…..I like Noro yarns but on a budget so Love by Red Heart is nice and soft…and so is I Love this Cotton from Hobby Lobby…all kinds:)
My favorite yarn depends on the project, but no matter what, I want the yarn to be soft and feel good to the touch.
lately I’ve been using mostly Lion Brand yarns – Vanna’s Choice, Vanna’s Glamour and Martha Stuart Extra Soft Wool Blend.
Lately it has been DK and soft…Enjoy making chemo hats and other items for charity and whatever yarn I use…it must be soft

I love all kinds of yarn but I guess my favorites are the natural yarns.

Mostly wool if I want to felt. If I don’t felt, I like to use wool and silk. So soft!
Hmm. I’m using a supersoft acrylic right now that is nice. But I think my favorite so far has been a super bulky wool.
I love anything that sparles and shines. I’m a glutton for GLITZ!!!
I like working with just about any yarn, but I seem to use a lot of eyelash, for scarves.
All yarn types have their perfect project, but I do love a nice wool sock yarn. Especially in warm natural type colors.
I love working with Lion Brand Wool-Ease and Caron’s Simply soft. They are both warm yet not scratchy, making lovely sweaters for babies or adults.
Although working with natural fibers is nice…..I love working with acrylics! They hold the stitches well and live in the washer and dryer forever!!! But best of all is watching the yarn and pattern blossom when you steam block. The pattern is then set and the yarn will soften up to butter……..
I like DK weight and bulky – any type
My favorite kind of yarn to work with is baby yarn. I love being able to make little baby hats, booties, afghans and baby clothes!
My favorite is the silky yarns, but also wool (Not the super itchy stuff). I love all yarn!! I really like the red heart soft yarns too!
fingering blends, any blend from quviut and silk [windy valley farms] to wool and possum [waikiwi], are my favorite type of yarns to work with. they’ll make anything from baby things to winter hats and everything in between, but i mostly make sox and shawls.
I like alot of different yarn but I think alpaca and silk is my favorite.

I love any smooth wool like cotton or bamboo as its easier to knit with.
Being a new knitter, I haven’t yet experienced knitting with any specialty yarns. Right now I’m attempting my very first garment .. a hoodie rated as “easy”. I’m using one of the Lion Brand Vanna White yarns from Michaels in a silvery-grey with flecks of black through it. I would love to win this swag bag to add to my very limited collection of knitting tools!
I love Homespun – it is soft and knits up quickly and has beautiful colors.
My favorite yarn is bamboo or merino or alpaca or anything with silk or a combination of any of the above. I guess I just love yarn in any fiber, weight, and color.
I love anything with Bamboo or Silk in it. My favorite weight is fingering – so many options for what you can do with it.
Anything soft and fluffy. I spin my own, so I really like wool.
I like cotton yarn in the summer and wool in the winter!
Whatever is closest to me and calling my name!
My favorite yarn is “I love this yarn” from hobby lobby…. So soft
I prefer fine yarn, fingering or no heavier than DK, with a significant wool content.
I’m a cotton girl. Love natural fibers because they breathe better.
I love natural fibers (alpaca is yummie). I also do my block of the month in Vintage & love it, nice feel, price is good and it’s washable. Also, some wools since I like to do some felting.
Caron Simply Soft, great for most of my projects. So many colors and it feels great after being worked up.
I love the bamboo yarns. They are so soft~ but way too expensive ;.;

I love anything super soft, merino and am really wanting to try alpaca as I’ve never yet handled it.
I love acrylic yarn for it’s washability & ease of care, but also love natural fibers like cotton, bamboo or silk for the softness
Any yarn is my favorite to knit with. You can always find a project the yarn is perfect for.
I love yarn period. I get so relaxed browsing and touching all the nice soft shimmery yarns. I’d like to lie on a bed of skeins of yarn, yarn and more yarn. I love yarn sales so I can stock up. I wish I was talented enough to spin and dye my own yarn, but then I’d have to own some sheep, wouldn’t I?
My favorite yarn? It depends on what I’m doing. I use a lot of cotton( sugar n cream), I enjoy silk bamboo, but lately I’ve used Malabrigo. And LOVED it. I like trying new brands and fibers. You just never know what you will end up creating!
I really like the light weight yarns – laces and the like – however as a new knitter I pretty much stick to worsteds. They are easiest for me right now.
I love to use cotton it feel great!
I know of some people that don’t like it, but to tell you the truth, I like Red Heart yarn. I’m working on a blanket for my daughter using mostly Red Heart
Soft bamboo blend.
I like working with knitted worsted because then when I give the knitted item as a gift I don’t have to worry about whether their allergic or not and will be able to enjoy wearing or using what I’ve made…the sweater I just finished last night is made from Marble Chunky Sandpiper grey…
I like a variety of yarn. I think bamboo and cotton come out winners for myself. For children and gifts acrylics.
Once you’ve worked with a superfine angora, you’re spoiled for all other yarns!
Right now I am into pima silk, sock yarn infused with aloe, and my own BFL handspun.
Sport weight yarns in pretty colors!!!!!
I enjoy most any of the Lion Brand.
I love merino, bamboo, and the new corn yarn! I pretty much work with all yarns, but I love the super soft ones.
I love the Caron Simply Soft for general things, especially baby blankets (and it’s washable!). But a soft bamboo silk is SOOOOO nice!
Right now I have to say I’m on a Bamboo kick, love it with Cotton or Soy just about any blend, I find pure bamboo a little difficult to work with.
Red Heart – I love all the new yarns they are coming out with.
I have never met a yarn or thread that I did not like . I love my knitting , and tatting an I am now learning to crochet. And I have learned how to do all three on the computer . And many thanks to Red Heart for there how to video’s I’m finly learning to read crochet patterns .
I don’t have a favorite, I just love the feel of yarn in my hands as I make the current project for a loved one. It is so very gratifying.
It depends on what I am knitting. I choose the yarn that fits the projects.
I love Lamb’s Pride. The wool/mohair mix is really awesome for how it feels while working, the touch when it’s done, and how it wears. I also really like some of the sheep’s wool and mohair yarns from local farms.
I love wool. My favorite? None stands out, but I haven’t tried them all yet. I’ll have to work on that!
I love to knit with any yarn. The sparkle of Vanna’s yarn is nice for glamor bags.
I make a lot of afghans, and since they get a lot of use, I use acrylic yarns for their softness and ease of care. For lighter baby afghans I like TLC Baby (3 weight). For thicker baby afghans I like Caron Simply Soft or Red Heart Baby TLC (4 weight). For all other afghans I like Caron Simply Soft because it feels like being wrapped in a hug.
My all-time favorite yarn to work with has been a bamboo blend. So soft!
I really wanted to go to the stitches midwest, but was unable to. It is fun hearing about your visit there. My favorite yarn to work with is any yarn that is soft. That leaves me a lot of choices.
I like to work with mostly cotton, but any yarn that speaks to me is my favorite at that time.
i love red heart the best for quality and colors.
Since I’m on a limited budget, my favorite yarn is anything unusual that I can’t usually afford.
For most generic projects I love Simply Soft by Caron. Then I splurge for special treats.
I love any kind of yarn, it really depends on what I am crocheting and who I am making it for!
I’m a YARNY. I LOVE All yarn. Any fiber, weight, color or brand.I have to Touch it all. I just can’t help myself.I work with yarn everyday. I have several projects going at all times.
I really love Vanna’s, Caron, and Lion Brand for texture, easy of use and variety of color options, when funds are plenty then an alpaca or superfine angora.
I love working with several kinds of yarn. Silk bamboo is so cuddly soft, cotton for household items, and cotton bamboo mix also. <3
I like worsted wt. And the soft yarns especially for baby afghans.
I have recently learned to crochet and I love all yarn the textures and colors amaze me. My favorite so far is mohair I love the soft feathery feel.
It depends on the project I am planning on. I like them all, but each for a different reason.
I love crocheting with the sequined yarns! Love that little bit of dazzle.
I love any yarn that is easy care. I enjoy colorful yarns for afghans for babies as well as adults.
It pretty much depends on what I’m making for whom. For kids, most afghans, and toys…acrylics. For adult accessory pieces…natural fibers. For adult garments…generally a blend of mostly acrylic with some natural fibers.
I prefer chunky, soft, acrylic, variegated yarns the most, like Deborah Norville Serenity yarns. I use these to make baby blankets for charity, and they work up super fast, soft, and cuddly. I also like the challenge of taking any donated yarns (as long as they are washable) and working them into blankets for babies and children.
I like to work with angora rabbit wool. It is thin and soft, so it has a lacey look to it, but is much warmer than sheeps wool. Plus it is so soft it is just a joy to work with.
that is a hard one! Each kind of yarn has it;s own place in knitting. I love to work with the soft lovely wools and natural yarn, and i also like the sturdyness of a cotton. And then the old acrylic has its place for durability
I just knit an afghan with Lion Brand Homespun and it is soft and light as a cloud.
Cascade because of the selecion of Colorado and endless patterns which use this yarn. But as a knitter – there is hardly a yarn I can pass up!!
I like Lion Homespun for afghans and baby weights for the sweater and blanket sets I crochet. This would add variety to the yarn my 92 years young mother-in-law gave me.
I love crocheting! I have made several large Afghans. My family loves them. I use red heart, vanna’s choice or whatever feels and looks good..
