Take a trip to Atlanta, Georgia, for this year’s STITCHES South at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel and the Cobb Galleria Centre from April 19-22. You’ll have an absolutely peachy time! STITCHES is one of the biggest events in the knitting industry and takes place in four locations nationwide. Knitters, crocheters, fiber artists, designers, and manufacturers migrate each year to STITCHES.
Sign up for packages that include events and classes for all three days or just choose to sign up for one day’s activities. Opening day includes the presentation Special Effects with various industry professionals showing off the latest ways to combine other fiber arts, embellishments, and dyes with your knitting.
Be sure to bring your yarn craft supplies! There are over 132 classes that you won’t want to miss. Everything you want to know about knitting will be covered by amazing designers including Anna Zilboor, Myra Wood, and Laura Bryant. Classes involve styles, stitches, fibers, and much more. Even some crochet classes have been tossed into the mix.
A fantastic fashion show will be hosted by Rick Mondragon, the editor for Knitter’s Magazine. Just imagine all of those gorgeous knit and crochet clothes and accessories on the runway! Rick will also be leading a presentation called From the Pages of Knitter’s Magazine. You’ll get the inside scoop on how the magazine is put together. Join designer and author Nicky Epstein for Nicky Epstein on Designing. And check out Jean Frost, the author of Custom Knit Casual Couture, as she presents Custom Knit Jackets.
And the market! For all things good and knitterful, remember to visit the market! It’s a knitter’s dream. Yarn, needles, and notions galore can be found at the STITCHES market that runs during the day on all three days. Check out the Market Floor for times, day pass prices, and the vendors list.
