A tea infuser is a small device like a strainer that holds your loose tea leaves while you steep the leaves. The tea is prepared by putting the infuser in steamed water to release the flavor and voila! You have your tea.
Now that you know what a tea infuser is, have you ever heard of a yarn infuser? This great tip and tutorial came to us from David Leon Morgan. His tea infuser project really is a neat little creation. If you’re working on a small project that calls for super fine yarn or even thread then the infuser is a great place for storage. If you have a tea infuser you can easily turn it into a little key chain so you can carry your yarn with you everywhere you go!
Supplies Needed:
- Yarn of Choice
- Pliers
- Clasp
- Jump Ring
- Scissors
- Tea Infuser

Fabulous! I do fine crochet and just love the concept. It is odd too as my Mom just gave me her tea infuser. I am definitely going to use this idea. Thank you so much! I just love it!
Empty spice bottles would work for the same purpose…but it would hold more and you could pull the yarn through one of the strainer holes and snap the lid shut to hold it. You can find empty ones to buy on-line in various sizes.
How about an herb infuser which is basically a big tea infuser for larger projects? Not sure if you could get a whole sock’s worth into it, but it would be close.
